Symbolism of Lady GaGa’s Telephone video
In my post about Lady GaGa and the Illuminati, I discussed a little about the symbolism in her videos. I have gotten various emails asking me about the symbolism in the her new video for Telephone. If you still haven’t seen the video, go here. This is some of what I came across, along with the help of some of my friends’ thoughts.
GaGa always likes to push the envelope when it comes to pointing out pop culture. Sometimes she does it as a means of art, and sometimes she does it as a jab at the negative affects of pop culture on our society. You can check out her interview with E! where she describes this in more detail, here.
A friend, Rasheed Waliagha, told me that she made “references to famous pop icons that are found in society and how they are presented in an “advertiseque” fashion, especially the “Sandwich Shop/ Let’s make poison” infomercial that eventually leads to the unintentional death of a whole diner of individuals.” I can agree with this as well. Although, I could see her making those advertising marks for the obvious, advertising. With her recent success, advertisers would of course want to take advantage of her fame, and market their products on her videos. I mean, her video for Bad Romance has over 150 million views on Youtube.

In the scene where Lady GaGa and Beyonce are wearing American Flags, one could think that they are representing the fall of America and its values to the the obsession with pop culture, material love, and advertisements. The advertising and the fact that she changes outfits multiple times shows not only her art in fashion creativity, but also her knowledge in what is going on in America. And she is putting it all in plain view for the world to see (literally).
The sequence of her fall and rise back to fame is seen again in Telephone. She is imprisoned, bailed out, and becomes famous again, only as a serial killer (along with Beyonce). The All-Seeing-Eye symbolism is also seen throughout the entire video. One eye is covered in many of the different outfits, for example, with the telephone hair piece that covers her eye.
I don’t believe that Lady GaGa is really mind controlled, but she does a really good job on making the symbolism her art. What do you think of the Telephone video? Could you point out any other references to the Illuminati and pop culture that I missed? Share your thoughts in a comment.

I’m not sure what to think of Jay-Z and the illuminati and even though got that ether hard I’m still a fan of his earlier work and I still think he makes decent music just could be more artistic
when she’s all wraped with the “crime scene” tape, the tape has a couple of crosses…. and she looks so skinny that is scary and then she licks something and cuts her tongue…
